Electric vehicles (EVs) get their power directly from a battery pack, unlike how Internal Combustion Engines (I.C.E.) get their energy from burning gasoline (or diesel). You can also receive government incentives that are eligible up to $5,000 when purchasing an EV.
The 3 Types: (1) Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) are fully electric with rechargeable batteries, (2) Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEV) have both gas-powered and electric motor but are unable to be plugged-in, (3) Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) have both gas-powered and electric motor and they can also be plugged in to charge.
Most fully electric vehicles can cover up to 100 kilometers with 15 kWh. Electric vehicles require considerably less maintenance when compared to fuel-powered ones because an electric motor has around a dozen moving parts whereas gas-powered have hundreds.
