Long Awaited 2018 Kia Stinger GT Tears Nurburgring to Ribbons

It’s been six years since we first saw the GT Concept, and six months after the 2018 Kia Stinger GT was unveiled in Detroit. The brand’s first-ever performance-ready sedan, it takes the sportiest elements of the Optima, Cadenza, and K900 and dials them up to ten. According to a reviewer from MotorTrend, its performance credentials transcend further still.

The Stinger GT on the MotorTrend test gauntlet was a fully-loaded model with a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 under the hood making 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque. The first reaction was how composed the car remained on the track. Gripping tires and a solid feel were reminiscent of German sports sedans, and the body motions were controlled and composed. That sense of stability and solidity were huge selling points in the test, with the power steering called one of the best systems Kia has delivered.
