Families often have a tough time deciding between a minivan and an SUV. With Kia's new Life Utility Vehicle (LUV), families now have another option.
The 2022 Kia Carnival is not quite a minivan and not quite an SUV. That is why Kia has created an all-new category for it--Life Utility Vehicle (LUV). And what is not to love about a vehicle that combines modern luxury, uncompromising style, practical space, and a sense of purpose?
The 2022 Kia Carnival pushes the bounds of what drivers have come to expect from vehicles and from automobile manufacturers. The features, technology, and styling of the Carnival compare with the likes of the Chrysler Pacifica, Honda Odyssey, and Toyota Sienna minivans, yet its exterior design likens more to Kia's incredible Telluride SUV and the entire Range Rover lineup.
Perhaps the most unexpected feature of the 2022 Kia Carnival are its power sliding doors. While it replaces the older Kia Sedona minivan and is focused on family, the Carnival's exterior design hides the fact that it is a minivan very, very well.
Under the hood, the 2022 Kia Carnival features a 3.5-litre V6 engine and eight-speed automatic transmission. This is a big leap forward for Kia, as is the interior technology. While an 8-inch touchscreen is standard, drivers have the option of dual 12.3-inch displays that stretch across more than 60% of the van's dashboard. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, come standard.
In terms of safety features, the 2022 Kia Carnival comes well equipped with lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, and blind-spot monitoring, allowing it to stay on the same level as its competitors.
Everything about the 2022 Kia Carnival is modern and accommodating. The luxe interior is made of quality materials that project a high-end look and feel. The cabin environment features a panoramic dashboard with a chrome line running the length of it. The Carnival's wheelbase and overall length were increased, providing more room and flexibility for passengers and cargo.
While other SUVs all blend together, the 2022 Kia Carnival stands out in a crowd. It features aggressive, sleek styling with impressive elements such as an SUV-inspired design, dramatic character lines, prominent wheel arches, and distinctive layout. The sliding doors blend seamlessly into the exterior, leaving people questioning whether the Carnival is an SUV or a minivan.
The 2022 Kia Carnival will be available in five trim levels as it makes its debut in Calgary and across Canada. Starting at $34,495, the Carnival will be available in LX, LX+, EX, EX+, and SX model configurations.
The Canadian debut of the 2022 Kia Carnival is going to be impressive. Its exterior styling alone is enough to make drivers sit up and take notice, but its standard features and dedication to safety will have them driving it home after a visit to the dealership.
