2022 Kia Telluride models

The mid-size SUV that Kia, the Telluride, presented a subtle update with the new 2022 Kia Telluride model. However, there is no great aesthetic novelty but improved technological equipment onboard.

Considered a success for the Korean brand in the Canadian market, the 2022 Kia Telluride unveiled its update. The improvements were applied mainly in technological equipment, connectivity, and assistance options. Otherwise, the design is practically the same with the same propulsion system.

Kia Telluride, world car of the year

With just a little more than two years on the market, since its launch in early 2019, the model managed to position itself in the SUV segment in Canada. From there, it was recognized as one of Kia's most luxurious vehicles. Its imminent success led it to receive two industry awards. After being named "U.S. SUV of the Year" in the US, it was called "2020 World Car of the Year" a couple of months later.

Before this 2022 update, Kia introduced the special "Nightfall Edition" blacked-out exterior styling. This tone can be found on the new specific front grille with link grilles, roof rails, 20-inch wheels with version-specific design, lower side mouldings, ski plate protectors, LED headlight combined with fog light surrounds, and model emblems.

According to Sean Yoon, President, and CEO of Kia Motors America, this model is intended for those who "prefer a more assertive, premium look for their family car or weekend adventurer."

Interior

Turning now to the interior of Kia's high-end SUV, all models in the series received upgrades. Additional standard equipment is added to the entry-level LX and S versions, including a new infotainment system with a larger 10.25-inch screen and GPS navigator.

Design

The subtle tweaks that the 2022 Kia Telluride models received in their exterior design are visible in a new grille with some tweaks. The center was installed with the latest logo of the brand as the highlight of the update from the aesthetic point of view. The badge was placed on the rear door.

Comfort

Other features include an automatic climate control system and roadside assistance. Additionally, all models in the range were fitted with an intelligent cruise control curve system. This system automatically reduces speed when approaching a curve.

Engine

On the mechanical side, the 2022 Kia Telluride also remained unchanged. That is to say that any variant will be equipped with a 3.8-litre V6 engine capable of producing 291 horsepower and 355 Nm of torque. The transmission is an eight-speed automatic, and an all-wheel drive is an option.

The offer of the 2022 Kia Telluride in the Canadian market consists of three different versions, and prices start at $42,000. Of course, the brand offers other additional elements for an extra cost.
