What's New for 2022

The Seltos was a brand-new model for 2021, so the latest 2022 refresh has just a few updates. The key improvement is the upgrade of the active safety suite to provide a high level of features across the whole range. However, Kia has also released a new Nightfall Edition complete with black aluminum wheels and a black exterior trim for a dramatic update to the Seltos's great looks.

Exterior Design

However, even the standard editions of the Seltos offer an attractive vehicle in a tiny package. Although the overall profile is certainly that of an SUV, the diminutive body size means the Seltos has the charm of a hatchback, but with the large hood and front grille giving the outline a strong touch of confidence.

Under the Hood

The standard Seltos model is fitted with a city-friendly 2.0L engine making 146 horsepower, married to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and front-wheel drive. However, if you're looking for a little more oomph in your SUV then upgrading to the 1.6L turbo engine will provide it, with figures of 175 horsepower and 195lb-ft impressing at this size point. What's more, the larger engine upgrades the transmission to a twin-clutch seven-speed automatic, with all-wheel drive available as an option.

Interior and Technology

For a small car the Seltos offers plenty of interior space, with plenty of room for up to five passengers and generous cargo space at the rear. The interior decor is refined, with optional upscale features including soft ambient lighting which can pulse in time with the eight-speaker Bose sound system.
Every model in the 2022 Seltos range is fitted with an infotainment touchscreen, measuring 8" in the base LX trim but upgraded to a 10.3" design in every other model. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both standard, with navigation available as an option. And lastly for the interior technology section, the dash contains a colour LCD instrument display measuring either 3.5" or 7" to make essential driving information available at a glance.

Advanced Active Safety Features

The 2022 Seltos features an upgraded suite of active safety features, with key options including automatic emergency braking, lane departure warnings and centring, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alerts.
