Choose the lower-end engine with front-wheel drive and you'll be rewarded with excellent fuel economy figures of 8.1L / 100km in the city and 6.2L / 100km on the highway. Switching to all-wheel drive increases consumption a little, as you'd expect, and equally unsurprisingly the 2.5L turbo mill is thirstiest of all with a rating of 9.8L (city) and 7.4L / 100km (highway). Nonetheless, these economy figures show one of the great advantages of the streamlined sedan shape compared to the hulking SUV format.

High-End Interior

The upscale feel of the K5 interior is signalled from the start with attractive features including real wood trim, heated and ventilated seats, and ambient interior lighting. But it's in the infotainment and technology options where the K5 really shines. Even at the entry level a large 8" touchscreen display is included, with 10.3" offered as standard on most of the higher trims.

Smartphones can be easily integrated through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with both corded and wireless versions on offer, while options include navigation, multiple USB ports, and a wireless charging pad. And lastly, the standard six-speaker audio can be upgraded to a premium 12-speaker Bose system.
