Is Your Kia Ready for Winter in Calgary?

Now that it's November and the weather has chilled, it's time to think about getting ready for winter. That might mean changing your wardrobe to include more sweaters, or installing winter windows on your house. In the process of winterizing your life, don't forget about your vehicle! Is your Kia ready for winter in Calgary? Here are a few things you can do:

• Get an oil change! Cold weather amplifies existing engine issues. Keep your engine healthy with an oil and filter change, which will clean your engine and help it run more efficiently.
• Test your battery! Likewise, cold weather can be the death of a weak battery. Have it tested to see if it's strong enough for another winter. If not, it's a good idea to have it replaced.
• Check your coolant! Not only does your coolant keep your engine at a safe temperature, it also gives you heat inside your vehicle on cold days. Regularly check your coolant level, and top it off when needed.
• Install winter wiper blades! Often times, regular windshield wipers aren't strong enough to remove heavy snow and ice from your windshield. Use heavier winter blades to keep your vision clear.
