What's the most important step in the car shopping process? The infamous test drive. When you get to experience a vehicle firsthand for the very first time. And when you test drive a Kia in Calgary, you won't be disappointed. At least, that's what Autotrader thinks. Autotrader recently named the Kia Sportage a 2017 Must Test Drive vehicle.

Every year, Autotrader releases their list of vehicles that car shoppers simply must test drive, as determined by their editorial experts. In order to make the list, a vehicle has to be in the current or next model year, and available at the time of the list's release. It also has to be priced under $75,000 and scored no lower than 3.5 out of 5 on Autotrader's site.

The Sportage meets all of those requirements, and then some. The Sportage features a 181 horsepower 2.4-liter engine that pumps out 175 pound-feet of torque. Upgrade to the 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, and you get 240 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque to play with. Not to mention that it's an IIHS Top Safety Pick+. Performance and safety? Sounds test drive worthy to us.
